Knights on Bikes Founder, Raymond C. Medina and his wife, Rosie Medina
Raymond C. Medina is the founder of Knights on Bikes (KonB), an International Catholic motorcycle riders organization born from personal faith. What started as a tribute to his faith on a single Harley-Davidson has since grown into a global community of Catholic motorcycling brothers.
The Spark of an Idea
On September 13, 2003, Raymond and his wife, Rosie, visited Fort Worth Harley-Davidson. There, they became the proud owners of a rare, limited-edition Harley-Davidson Fatboy—specifically #7 out of only 10 ever made. Before hitting the open road, Raymond took the bike to the nursing home where his father lived to receive his dad’s blessing, grounding his new journey in family and faith.
As a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7458 (KC), Raymond wanted to proudly display his Catholic fraternal heritage on his new ride. He crafted a custom metal plate, painted it black, applied a KC decal, and affixed it to the lower left side of his saddlebag for all to see.
A Brotherhood Ignited
The custom plate immediately caught the eyes of his fellow riders. Brother Knight Willie C. Davidson. Co-Founder, along with four other brothers, instantly wanted the same setup for their own bikes. With that shared bond, the unofficial seeds of Knights on Bikes were planted in September 2003.
As they rode together—including a memorable trip to the Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally in Austin in June 2004—Willie repeatedly urged Raymond that they needed to start an official organization. When Willie suggested that Raymond should serve as the president, Raymond initially laughed it off with a firm, “Oh, hell no.”
Founding the Brotherhood
The momentum, however, could not be stopped. Around April 2005, an artist friend designed the official KonB logo. Soon after, Raymond’s cousin told him about Tripod, a free web-hosting platform. Though the original website was small, it successfully spread the word to Catholic riders looking for fellowship. The rapid growth relies heavily on family partnership. Together with his wife Rosie, Raymond built the operational foundation of the brotherhood from the ground up: Developed the original website, designed brochures, printed handouts, and managed the global membership database.
In June 2005, Knights on Bikes was officially founded in Fort Worth, Texas, establishing its spiritual home and Mother Church at St. Mary of the Assumption. Guided by Raymond’s original vision, the brotherhood continues to ride under the banner of faith, charity, and safe motorcycling worldwide. Raymond officially trademarked the Knights on Bikes and Moto: In God We Trust And Ride!
